So how does Career Coaching work?

In a response to our understanding that those of you whom haven’t had career coaching previously, often ask ‘so how does career coaching work?’ we’ve asked each of our leading Coaches to describe the process and their approach in their own words. First up, is Ozlem.

Ozlem’s is one of our most experienced Career Coaches who achieves fantastic results with our clients. Ozlem tends to work with managers, directors, specialising in career coaching for senior professionals. Below is her explanation of how career coaching works and how she uses DISC profiling to compliment her coaching approach.

In her own words

“Coaching is a future-focused, conversational intervention for people to have further clarity around what they want career-wise. Coaching helps people to align their purpose, passion and values with their goals. And is highly-effective in helping people to decide the career direction they’d like to take or create with more certainty, and to organise their thoughts to design an action plan. The process of coaching also increases self-awareness and confidence to move forward.

Reflecting on your current habits, perspective, mindset and relationships is crucial to identify what’s helped you with your achievements so far. Deciding which of your existing habits work for you and how to create new habits, beliefs and skills to close the gap between where you are now and where you’d like to be.

Taking that knowledge and using it to help you qualify the opportunities you have is the next step.
From here, we can zone in on those directions we find will fit you best: the most practical ways for you to take strategic action- including using or developing your network strategically,  maximising your fantastic skills & experience, and as mentioned above, putting together a plan of action to help you move forward- which also includes an effective job search strategy and preparing for interviews.

And of course being a DISC qualified coach and a trainer, I can share with you the practical ways of managing your relationships and increasing your influence, using DISC.”
